Spark Plug: record an idea from any screen

A melody, a riff, a lyric: catch it whenever the mood strikes. Click the red-and-orange Spark Plug button at the top of any screen, or press Shift-Command-I. Click again and it's saved as a 24-bit WAV in Media Hub → Ideas, ready to drag into your DAW.

Read the Spark Plug guide

Spark Plug in five steps: record an idea from any screen, keep working, stop to save it, find it in Media Hub, and drag it into a DAW.
  1. Hear something? Click Spark Plug — or press Shift-Command-I. The button is at the top of every screen. One click starts recording, with nothing to fill in.

  2. It's recording. Keep working. Go to any section. A small recorder shows the time and your input level.

  3. Stop, and it's saved. Stop & Save stores it right away as a 24-bit WAV, named with the date and time.

  4. Find it in Media Hub → Ideas. Play it, rename it, add a note, or link it to a Producer's Pad song.

  5. Drag it straight into your DAW. Grab the handle and drop the WAV onto a track, or into Finder.
