Built in the Studio, Not the Boardroom

MusicLaunch was built by Mike Grebb, an independent singer-songwriter and producer who has released his own albums, including Levitate (2021) and Resolution (2004). He finished building the app in late 2026, and he’s already using it to plan the release of his new album, coming in early 2027. MusicLaunch started the way a lot of independent music projects start — with frustration. Spreadsheets for contacts, a different app for scheduling posts, another for budgeting, sticky notes for follow-ups, and a dozen browser tabs that never seemed to close.

The tools Mike tried were either made for marketing teams with bigger budgets, or too general for the way an independent release actually runs. None of them fit the job of being the artist, the marketer, the publicist, and the business manager all at once.

So MusicLaunch was built from scratch — by an independent musician, for independent musicians. Every feature exists because it solved a real problem in a real album release campaign. Everything from the Content Calendar to the Sync Licensing pipeline to the Budget Tracker to the Producer’s Pad was born of past frustration with the complexity and chaos of music creation and promotion. DIY can be tough. But it’s nice to be in control, not to mention a whole lot cheaper than farming all the work out to third parties.

Your release team isn't an afterthought either. Its 15 members are general AI models given music-business instructions and your own campaign data, because generic advice like "post consistently" isn't helpful when you're trying to decide whether to pitch a blog or focus on playlist submissions this week. They handle the business side and never write or shape your music. They're optional: every section works without them.

MusicLaunch is a desktop app by design, on the Mac today. Your data lives on your machine. You're not locked into a monthly subscription just to access your own contacts and campaign notes. You buy it, you own it.
