Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account & Purchase Information. When you purchase MusicLaunch or subscribe to an AI plan, we collect your name, email address, and payment information. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor; we do not store your full credit card number. We may also ask how you heard about MusicLaunch, and store your answer, together with any campaign tags from the link you arrived through, with your order (see Section 8).

License Activation Information. When you activate MusicLaunch, we store a random identifier for your Mac, when it was activated and when it last checked in with our license server. We use this only to keep your license on one Mac at a time and to show you which Mac it’s on when you move to a new one. When you use our License Help page, we keep a scrambled (one-way hashed) form of your IP address and email address for up to two days to prevent abuse.

Website Sign-ups. If you join our waitlist or mailing list, or ask us to email you a download link, we collect your email address (and your first name, if you give it). If you arrived through a link with campaign tags, we store those tags with your sign-up (see Section 8).

Information From Ad Forms. If you ask for information through a form inside Instagram, Facebook or TikTok (for example, “email me the link for my Mac”), we receive what you entered from that platform, such as your name, email address and your answers to the form’s questions. We use it to send you what you asked for and a few follow-up emails about MusicLaunch, which you can stop at any time, and to see whether our ads lead to purchases (by checking whether the same email address later buys). We do not send it back to any advertising platform. The platform’s own privacy policy covers what it collects in its app.

Website Help Chat. If you use the help chat on our website, your questions and the chat’s earlier answers are sent to our AI service provider (Anthropic) to write each reply; we do not store the conversation on our servers. To enforce the chat’s daily limit, we keep a scrambled (one-way hashed) form of your IP address that changes every day.

Application Data. MusicLaunch is a desktop-first application. Your campaign data, contacts, calendar entries, budgets, and other project information are stored locally on your computer in a SQLite database. We do not have access to this data unless you explicitly share it with us.

Photos and Videos You Post. When you post a photo or video to Instagram, Facebook or TikTok from MusicLaunch and the platform needs to fetch it from a link, the app first gets a one-time upload link from our server (musiclaunchapp.com), then uploads a copy (photos are resized for the platform) to our temporary storage at uploads.musiclaunchapp.com, which is provided by Cloudflare, so the platform can fetch it from a public link. The link is a long, random web address, and while the copy is there, anyone who has that address can view it. Our storage deletes the copy automatically one to two days after the upload, and copies that Cloudflare’s network or a web browser has already cached can stay viewable at the same address for a few hours after that. The platform keeps its own copy as part of your post, under its own policies. We do not use these copies for anything else.

AI Interaction Data. If you use our AI-powered features (available with the Backstage Pass, VIP or All Access subscriptions to MusicLaunch’s AI assistants), your prompts, the AI-generated responses, and the relevant portions of your locally stored data needed to answer your request (for example, the campaign, contact, budget, or gear information the assistant is working with) are processed by our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate your response. The app sends each request through MusicLaunch’s server (musiclaunchapp.com) to Anthropic. Our server checks your license and keeps a usage record of which feature you used, when, and how many tokens it took; it does not store what you asked or what the AI answered. Anthropic retains this data only as described in its own API data-usage policy. A limited Help Center chatbot (25 queries per day) is also available to all users for product‑usage questions only. We do not use your AI interactions to train AI models.

Anonymous Usage Report. If you answer yes to “Help Improve MusicLaunch” (asked when you first open the app), the app sends one short report a month to our website. It contains the app version, your computer’s operating system, your AI plan, how many artist profiles you have, that month’s total AI usage, and counts of which features you used, such as how many requests each AI assistant handled and how many ideas you recorded on your Mac or brought in from your phone. It is labeled only with a one-way scrambled code made on your Mac from the computer’s name and your user name, so we can tell reports from different Macs apart without knowing whose they are. It contains no names, email addresses, license keys, contacts, file names, text or audio, and we don’t store your IP address with it; to enforce a daily limit, we keep a scrambled form of the IP address that changes every day. We use it only to improve MusicLaunch. If you answer no, nothing is sent, and you can turn the report on or off at any time in Settings > Privacy. MusicLaunch does not send crash reports.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To process purchases and manage your license or subscription
• To provide and maintain the Service, including AI features
• To send transactional emails (purchase confirmations, license keys, subscription updates)
• To send news and offers about MusicLaunch if you join our waitlist or mailing list, or ask for information through an ad form. Every such email includes an unsubscribe link.
• To understand which of our campaigns, posts and ads bring visitors and customers, using campaign tags, your answer to “How did you hear about MusicLaunch?”, aggregate page-view counts, and whether an ad-form sign-up later became an order. We do this in our own records; none of it is sent to advertising platforms.
• To respond to your support requests
• To improve our application based on anonymous, aggregated usage data
• To comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with:

• Payment processors to process transactions
• AI service providers to power AI features within the application
• License management services to manage subscriptions and license validation
• Website, database and email providers (such as Vercel, Supabase and Resend), which process information only to run our website, store sign-ups and orders, and send our emails
• Cloud storage provider (Cloudflare) to hold photos and videos you post for one to two days, so Instagram, Facebook and TikTok can fetch them
• Music analysis (Cyanite.ai): only if you connect your own Cyanite account and run Deep Analysis, a copy of that track is uploaded to Cyanite through your account and deleted from your Cyanite library afterwards; Cyanite’s privacy policy applies
• Law enforcement if required by law or to protect our legal rights

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. Your local application data is protected by your operating system's file permissions and any device-level encryption you have enabled.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and purchase information for as long as your license or subscription is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations. Your local application data remains on your device and is under your control. Photos and videos uploaded so a platform can fetch them are deleted automatically one to two days after upload (cached copies can stay viewable for a few hours longer). Usage records for AI requests are deleted after 400 days, and records of upload links (file type and size only) after 30 days.

We keep waitlist and mailing-list sign-ups, and requests made through ad forms, until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. If you ask us to email you a download link and don’t ask for news and offers, we delete that request after 90 days. Campaign tags and your answer to “How did you hear about MusicLaunch?” are kept with the sign-up or order they belong to.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Object to or restrict processing of your information
• Data portability

8. Cookies, Analytics & Advertising

Our website does not use advertising cookies, ad-platform tracking pixels (such as the Meta Pixel or TikTok Pixel) or other third-party tracking scripts, and we do not send information about your visits to advertising platforms.

• Page-view counts. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless, aggregate analytics service provided by our website host, Vercel. It does not set cookies and does not follow you across other websites.
• Campaign tags. Links to our site (for example, in our ads, posts or creators’ videos) may carry tags that name the campaign or ad. Your browser keeps them for the current visit only, in session storage rather than a cookie. If you sign up, ask us to email you a link, or buy, we store those tags with that sign-up or order, together with your answer to “How did you hear about MusicLaunch?”, so we can tell which campaigns work.
• Checkout. Purchases are completed on Stripe’s checkout page, which is part of Stripe’s own website. Stripe may use its own cookies there, for example to prevent fraud; Stripe’s privacy policy applies.
• Other browser storage. Our help chat keeps a count of your questions in your browser’s session storage for the current visit.
• Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We don’t track you across other websites or share your browsing with advertisers, so there is nothing for these signals to switch off on our website. If that ever changes, we will update this section before the change takes effect.

This section is about our website. The MusicLaunch app does not report what you do in it to any advertising platform; it contacts services such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube only for the features you use with the accounts you connect, such as posting and keeping your stats up to date. The app’s Music Business News card loads its news feeds straight from the news sites that publish them, so those sites see your Mac’s internet address, as they would on any visit; we don’t receive or record what you read. It loads only the feeds that are switched on: a starter set of music-business sites until you change the list, and none if you turn news off.

9. Children’s Privacy

MusicLaunch is meant for adults 18 and older (see our Terms of Service). It is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
